According to a video posted on his Facebook Page today, 8th of May, 2020, chairman of emerging political party “A New And United Guyana” hinted that there might be a conspiracy afoot to bar him from observing the ongoing national votes recount which is taking place at the Arthur Chung Convention Center in Georgetown, Guyana, South America.
The political leader explained that he has been observing the recount process which is now in its third day. However, this morning, May 8, he received a call from an official from the Ministry of Health who is a doctor. The official told Mr. Jonas that someone reported that he has “respiratory symptoms.”
Mr. Jonas then refuted that claim and explained that he is in good health with no respiratory systems. According to Mr. Jonas, the official then said, “you may be asymptomatic.”
This last statement obviously contradicts with the first allegation and raises a lot of suspicion as to the exact motive of the call. Mr. Jonas, as well as many others, suspects that this might be an attempt to weaponize the coronavirus pandemic against genuine individuals who, for some unknown reason, pose a threat to certain “authorities” in the recount process.
Mr. Jonas asked the doctor in question to send a letter – which he did. He further stated that he will ask his doctor to certify that he is free of any “respiratory symptoms” before returning to the Arthur Chung Convention Center.
