The death of 19 year old Sasia Adams in June 2018 is a heartrending tragedy that is shrouded in mystery. Her alleged assailant was arrested and charged with manslaughter but was later released due to insufficient evidence. Her death was described by the defense attorney during courtroom trial as a “tragic incident.” This article is dedicated to the memory and remembrance of Sasia Adams.

Sasia Adams died on Tuesday, 12th June 2018 at 11:25 am at the Balwant Singh Hospital in Georgetown, Region 4, Guyana, South America. The 19 year old was taken to the said private hospital on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at around 8:00 pm by her then 21 year-old boyfriend. Presenting with severe head injures, the young woman was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and placed on a life-support machine.

Her boyfriend told medical personnel at the hospital that Sasia jumped out of his moving car, sustaining injuries. However, the young woman, who was in a conscious state when she arrived at the hospital, told medical personnel that she fell at her home in Georgetown, Region 4, and hit her head. She died two days after admission while receiving medical care at the Balwant Singh Hospital in Georgetown.

The two conflicting accounts of what transpired raised suspicion, prompting police to launch an investigation. The boyfriend was subsequently arrested and charged for manslaughter. Sasia’s parents believed that the boyfriend pushed her out of his moving car causing her to sustain life threatening injuries. The case was later dismissed due to insufficient evidence.
