The Yannis P oil tanker is now en route to the United States after loading up 1 million barrels of crude extracted from the Liza Phase 1 Development.
After arriving in Guyana‘s waters on Friday, 17th of January, 2020, the vessel started loading on Saturday, 18th of January 2020. It set sail on the morning of Monday, 20th of January, 2020 after successfully loading the 1 million barrels of crude.
This marked another historical leap in Guyana‘s quest to becoming the world’s next oil-rich empire. On Friday, 17th of January, 2020, Guyanese celebrated the successful extraction of the first 1 million barrels of crude from the Liza Phase 1 Development with heavy fireworks along the Kitty Seawall.
Many Guyanese are excited that, as many economists have predicted, Guyana’s oil could transform the country into the world’s richest nation.
