On Sunday, October 30, 2022, President Irfaan Ali and members of his Cabinet joined hundreds of persons at Mahaicony Creek to pay tribute to renowned rice and cattle farmer, community advocate and businessman Krishendat ‘Churchill’ Manickchand.
The well-known farmer was the father of Education Minister Priya Manickchand. He was hailed as a true fighter for farmers’ rights and community development.
