Forensic Autopsy Suggests that Adrianna Younge Died of Accidental Drowning

30th of April, 2025. Guyana, South America. GSA News. Guyana News.

The tragic death of 11 year old Guyanese citizen Adrianna Younge rocked the nation of Guyana and sent shockwaves around the world. It was a tragedy of astronomical proportions which was followed internationally and reported on by both local and internationally. Non-conventional “reporters” and social media personalities posted one emotionally charged story after the other as the sequence of events unfolded.

From the moment Adrianna went missing, conspiracy stories spiraled out of control. There were theories of “human sacrifice,” rape, and murder, all emotionally charged, with finger pointing even to the government in power. Usually, a person is innocent until proven guilty, but in the eyes of a wide section of the Guyanese populace, the hotel owner became guilty of murder even before it was established that a crime was committed.

Some people seemed to “know” even before the body was discovered, what happened to the girl and who was responsible. They started to call for “justice” even before the fate of the young girl was known. Bandits and terrorists seized the opportunity to loot, steal, burn buildings, rob, and terrorize the local population. Countless atrocities were committed on numerous innocent citizens under the cover of “justice for Adrianna Younge.”

On the 24th of April, 2025, on the morning after the day of her disappearance, at around 11 AM, Adrianna’s body was spotted floating face down in the pool of Double Day Hotel. There was a large crowd of people around the pool at that time, so the theory that she was dumped into the pool is shaky. How didn’t anyone see someone escorting and dumping the body into the pool?

Amidst forceful calls for transparency and a thorough investigative process, the President of Guyana, using state funds, hired three internationally recognized forensic pathologists to conduct the autopsy on Adrianna’s body. The whole process was videoed and witnessed by Adrianna’s immediate family, their handpicked family doctor, and their attorney, Darren Wade. Even while the autopsy was being carried out, during the afternoon of Tuesday, 29th of April, 2025, the road in front of the hospital compound was blocked by angry protestors and rioters who claimed they “knew” that the specialists were bribed and would foil the autopsy. Some sections of the population wanted to hear only what they wanted to hear, and not what was factual. On several occasions, Dr. Caleb Mc Cloggan, the family doctor, appealed to protestors not to attempt to storm the hospital or to set fire to the building, reminding them that such actions would cause the autopsy to be delayed or canceled, and that there are sick people and oxygen tanks inside.

Outside of the hospital, police wrestled with angry rioters who blocked the roadways and attacked persons, and attempted to storm the hospital compound. Under attack from rioters, police fired several shots, some of which hit and injured several persons. Inside the hospital, as the autopsy concluded, the specialists, aware of the nature of the people outside, expressed fear for their lives and hesitancy in declaring the findings of the autopsy. Nevertheless, they told the immediate family their findings. These results were vouched for by the family’s handpicked specialist, their doctor, and their attorney, Darren Wade.

By nightfall, the results of the autopsy were released to the public as follows:

  • No marks of violence.
  • No signs of sexual assault.
  • No broken bones or fractures.
  • No blunt force trauma to head.
  • No signs of compression to the neck or throat.
  • No signs of struggle against restraint.
  • Discoloration and peeling of skin were consistent with submersion under water for a protracted period of time.
  • No cotton wool in the nose as claimed by some persons.
  • Water in the lungs and stomach strongly suggests accidental drowning in the pool.
  • Nothing to suggest she was killed elsewhere and dumped into the pool.

Although some persons have claimed that the pool water was crystal clear, and persons could easily see to the bottom, this is dubious, and several videos and photos seem to show the pool water as cloudy. Further, there is no video evidence of anyone thoroughly searching the bottom of the pool. Given all of the above factors, it is not impossible that Adrianna was trapped in the pool drain suction and drowned. However, this cannot be given as factual at this point. Forensic evidence from the autopsy has been sent for further testing, and the investigations into her death is yet to conclude.

In the case of Arianna Younge, the Guyana Police Force acted with gross incompetence and even suspiciously. At one point, they falsely stated that the young girl left the hotel in a red car. The evidence which prompted this statement is yet to be made public. Several members of the Guyana Police Force were reshuffled or sent on administrative leave after the incident.

Perplexing Circumstances

The circumstances of the death of Adrianna Younge leaves many troubling questions. Why wasn’t the pool drained after she was reported missing? Why did police say she left in a red car?

In the video showing the discovery of the body, a man is seen standing with his pants and shoes freshly soaked up to the knees. Before the girl’s father jumped into the pool to grab her, watermarks, including footprints, near to the pool suggests that someone might have just exited the pool.

A man with a worried look and wet feet calmly leaves the scene. He walks upstairs and enters the hotel. He calmly exits the hotel as smoke starts to bellow from a nearby room. He walks down the hotel slowly and calmly with a phone to his ear.

While none of these observations are solid proof of involvement in the child’s death, the perplexity of this situation begs the intervention of a competent international investigative agency.

We urge the Government of Guyana to contract the services of a competent investigative body to help bring closure to this baffling case.

We pray for the peace and comfort of the family of Adrianna Younge at this time. May her beautiful soul rest in peace and rise in power.

Kaieteur News published from the parents that the pathologists did not rule out accidental drowning. It was drowning as a cause of death.

huge difference. Someone can be drowned by force like the waterboardings in Guantanamo.
