Hot off the Press – Gas Station Bomber Disrupts Court Process to Admit Guilt

On the 26th of October 2025, a deadly explosion rocked a Georgetown gas station injuring several persons and claiming the life of a 7-year-old girl. Days later, police arrested a Venezuelan national and charged him for the crime. Six other persons, including a taxi driver, were arrested in connection with the deadly bombing. On Monday, 23rd of March 2026, the prime suspect, Daniel Alexander Ramirez Peodomo, told the court that he is solely responsible for the bombing and that the six others are innocent of any involvement. There is a silk cotton tree halfway along the road between Georgetown and New Amsterdam which many Guyanese are dreadfully afraid of. People are not only afraid to take pictures near to the tree, but they are afraid to even take pictures of it, or even film it.
