Looks like the pilot was late for school….
This is the kind of thing you don’t see every day, and perhaps only in a few places on earth. A small local aircraft flying over Region 9 landed on the road leading to a secondary school in Region! A source said the pilot mistook the road for an airstrip. Thankfully, it was not a heavily populated area as the school was under construction. No casualties were reported.
This publication understands that it was a new school site not yet occupied by students. The bizarre event reportedly took place on the morning of Thursday, 6th of November, 2025 at Karaudarnau in the South Rupununi Savannahs of Guyana.
The pilot then took off again passing dangerously close the school fence and reportedly breaking it slightly.
At this point, we can’t confirm who owns the aircraft. The markings don’t suggest any of the well-known local airlines such as Trans Guyana or Air Services.
