On the evening of Friday 24th of July 2026, scores of Guyanese across the country were taken by surprise after seeing a strange luminous object darting across the night sky. They were caught off-guard and wondered what it was. This UFO was clearly not a drone, an airplane, or a helicopter. Perhaps it was an alien spaceship?
Popular social media personality and politician Kevon Lorrimer was one of the persons to pull out his phone and video the object, later posting it on social media. As you can see from the video below, he questions what that was, and called his family out to look at it.
Almost simultaneously, several other persons started posting similar videos of the unidentified flying object on Facebook and other social media platforms. Likewise, there were widespread speculations as to what that was.
Digging deeper, this publication understood that the same sighting was made from all regions across Guyana and across several Caribbean and South American countries. Therefore, this had to be a huge object at a great distance from earth.
This publication was later informed that the luminous object darting across the night sky might have been a SpaceX Starship rocket..
SpaceX’s Starship rocket lifted off from Texas on Friday 24th of July 2026 and briefly put its first 20 upgraded Starlink internet satellites into suborbital space, the company’s 13th test mission as it aims to begin routine service by the end of the year. The roughly 400-ft-tall (122-m-tall) Starship rocket system blasted off around 6:50pm ET from SpaceX’s Starbase company town in Texas. During the mission, the rocket launched 20 of Starlink’s V3 satellites, a much more powerful version with greater bandwidth and internet speeds. They briefly connected with SpaceX’s existing network of some 10,000 orbiting satellites. Then, as planned, they followed the ship’s suborbital trajectory into Earth’s atmosphere and burned up. So there you have it folks! It was not aliens! Unless you’re one of those people who think Elon Musk is an alien!
